A seminar series for the general public on neuroscience topics with the researchers of the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences - CIMeC of the University of Trento.
TOGETHER TO IMPROVE TREATMENTS AND PROGNOSIS IN BRAIN TUMORS
The Center for Mind/Brain Sciences - CIMeC of the University of Trento and the Provincial Agency for Health Services - APSS, together with the Neurosurgery Unit, organized the event Together to improve treatments and prognosis in brain tumors.
The results of clinical research in the field of neuroscience, funded by private and public bodies in the territory of Trentino, has been presented during the conference, it has been also an opportunity to document the progress made in neuroscientific and neuro-clinical research oncology in the Province of Trento in recent years, thanks to the solid collaborations between the main stakeholders of our territory in the field of neuroscience, and thank to all those who supported these initiatives. The new perspectives and ongoing research in one of the most evolving fields of life sciences has been presented, in the hope of creating ever new and ever wider synergies for the future.
The event has been supported by the CARITRO Foundation, the Paolina Lucarelli Irion Foundation, the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Municipality of Rovereto.
LECTIO MAGISTRALIS BY PROF. VALTER D. LONGO
The Lectio Magistralis of prof. Valter D. Longo, professor of Biogerontology and Director of the Institute on Longevity, University of Southern California - Davis School of Gerontology, Los Angeles, USA, on Nutrition, Longevity and Health, will open the first edition of the Alvise Comel Foundation Master Thesis Awards ceremony.
Prof. Longo will talk about how a particular daily nutrition (Longevity Diet) and the Fasting Mimicking Diet regulate genes that affect aging, but also risk factors and diseases of aging, partly by activating alternative metabolic programs and partly by activating regenerative processes.

Even this year Fondazione Museo Civico of Rovereto, in collaboration with Società Museo Civico of Rovereto and CIMeC - Center for Mind/Brain Sciences, offers many cultural events to celebrate the birth of Charles Darwin, father of the Theory of Evolution, during the International Darwin Day 2020.

ATTIVITÀ FISICA E DANZA, BENESSERE, TERAPIA | Rovereto, June 15th 2019
Physical activity is one of the pillars for healthy aging of body and mind. It has health benefits in the healthy population and helps to delay the onset of neurodegenerative diseases. Recent scientific studies show that a constant activity allows to slow down some symptoms in chronic diseases, such as Parkinson's disease. It is therefore necessary to spread the practice of physical activity and dance, which are effective tools for active aging and which resonate at a social and emotional level, improving the quality of life and relationships.

CIMeC-KAIST symposium – Rovereto, April 15th, 2019
This event represents the second joint workshop of these two research institutions, following the first edition held in Daejeon (Korea) during summer 2017. Under the framework of a bilateral agreement, researchers from CIMeC and KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) will join together to discuss recent advances in the field of neural basis of cognition and computational neuroscience.
