Research in this area is highly multi-disciplinary and involves various projects generally aimed at pushing the limits of the structural and functional information that can be extracted from neuroimaging data exploiting the signal properties from different imaging modalities. Projects in this area include the development and optimization of human MRI acquisition methods, the investigation of novel methods to characterize temporal dynamics of human neural activation from functional MRI and EEG, MEG data, the development of machine learning algorithms to decode brain activity, and the development of nonlinear optical techniques for in-vivo morpho-functional imaging of small animal brains.
