General objectives - The objective of RARE Net is to create a highly competitive network of researchers that addresses the issue of active ageing with a cross-cutting approach, to implement innovative research programmes to ensure active and healthy ageing, to increase the autonomy of the elderly and their ability to play a significant role in social contexts.

Overall vision - Explore specific intervention protocols that allow cognitive decline delay in older people especially through the use of methods, that can give promising results in the prevention of such decline, such as cognitive training, physical training, and neurostimulation.
Promoting the dissemination of scientific culture in the field of ageing, and providing competencies that help promoting the development of translational research topics.
